Minecraft has supported full hex color since 1.16, but only in places that accept modern formatting: chat through plugins, MOTDs, kick messages, scoreboards, item names on servers with the right plugins. Each of those wants the color encoded differently, which is why this generator outputs the same gradient four ways. MiniMessage is the cleanest if your stack supports it; the per-character formats exist because legacy plugins never learned anything better.
Two colors from the same family (teal to green, orange to red) stay readable at chat size; opposite hues turn muddy in the middle. Against Minecraft's dark chat background, keep both ends bright - a gradient into dark blue disappears. It colors your text with a smooth blend between two or three colors, character by character, and outputs the result in formats that games and platforms understand - MiniMessage tags, per-character hex codes for Minecraft chat plugins, or plain HTML/CSS for the web.
If the plugin speaks MiniMessage (Paper ecosystem: Velocity, many modern plugins), use the <gradient> tag - it is one short tag instead of a code per letter. For EssentialsX-style chat and most legacy plugins, use the &#RRGGBB per-character output. The §x form is the raw legacy encoding some configs require.
Vanilla chat has only the 16 classic colors - full hex color needs a plugin (or MOTD/kick messages and other places where hex is supported since 1.16). Server-side plugins translate the codes this tool produces; pasting them into plain vanilla chat will not work.
Not directly - Discord chat does not support arbitrary text colors. Use the HTML/CSS output for websites, and the Minecraft outputs for in-game chat, MOTDs and plugin configs.
