Every Pal species carries a hidden breeding power value, and the child of a pair is picked from that math - but since the 1.0 update the game's real table includes rounding quirks, tie-breaks and unique-combo overrides that make the old "closest average" formula wrong for a large share of pairs. This page therefore doesn't approximate anything: it embeds the full datamined result for all 41,616 unique pairs, the same table the game reads. Same-species pairs always produce that species, and a short list of Pals (legendaries and some variants) can only be obtained that way.
Breeding is how you move great passive skills onto the species you actually want. Work backwards with the "find parents" mode: pick your target, choose a pair where one side is easy to catch with good passives, and chain from there. Remember the basics - you need a male and a female, a Breeding Farm, and one Cake per egg; the child can inherit passives from either parent. New to the loop? Place two opposite-gender Pals in a Breeding Farm with a Cake and they produce an egg. Which species hatches is deterministic: every parent pair maps to exactly one child species. Early guides described it as "closest average breeding power", but since the 1.0 update the real in-game table diverges from that formula in thousands of cells - which is why this calculator uses the datamined result table instead of the formula.
A group of Pals - including the legendaries (Jetragon, Paladius, Necromus, Frostallion) and several event or variant Pals - never appear as the child of two different species. Breeding two of the same kind always works (every Pal breeds itself), and variants can also come from their special parent combos shown by the calculator.
For the species outcome, only in one known case: Katress + Wixen. A female Katress with a male Wixen produces Katress Ignis, while a male Katress with a female Wixen produces Wixen Noct. Every other pair gives the same child regardless of which parent is which gender.
From the game files: the table is datamined from Palworld's own breeding data (PalCalc dataset v27, July 2026) rather than copied from wikis, and covers all 288 breedable Pals - 41,616 unique parent pairs.
